The Indian Christian Church was established by St. Thomas the Apostle, who belonged to the Levite family of Jews. He preached to the Jews of Malabar in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Over time, the Christian Church of Kerala adopted elements from the traditional practices of Buddhism, Judaism, and other cultures that visited Kerala. The Syrian Orthodox Church in Kerala evolved from Jewish synagogues in Malayalam Desam, including the churches of Nadamel Royal Church, Cochin Karingachira Church, and Piravom Church, which were founded by holy kings who paid homage to the infant Jesus Christ. The altars of Kerala churches often display art that represents the Ten Commandments, similar to Jewish Christian churches. The Pakalomattam family is a converted Christian family from the Jewish tradition and is known for their priesthood lineage without any discrimination, variations, or racism. They hold the authority and royal power of the ancient church of Malayalam Desham.
