Holy Priesthood - Part One
The holy priesthood from the Almighty God is known as the Melchizedek, meaning the Great Patriarch or God of the Righteous. According to the Jewish religion, the priesthood lineage started with Abraham (the Great Patriarch), preceded by Melchizedek, and succeeded by Isaac and Jacob. The people of God, or the sons of God, have gone through various circumstances, including slavery in Egypt and being rescued by the Almighty God. God gave power and strength to His people and re-established the priesthood through Moses to Aaron. The establishment of the new Israelite covenant is known as the commandments, but the credibility is given to the Levite family from Moses through God. The Aaronic priesthood continued through the Levite family to the next generations.
However, after countless sins, God did not receive the offerings of the people. God then sent the Lord Jesus to renew Jerusalem from sin, not for the sinless people, and not to end the blessings of the Levite family. Jesus was also from the Levite family and had a priesthood lineage from the Jewish parish, continuing the Aaronic lineage to the next generations.
